Is Aamir Khan overrated as an actor? by Siddharth Grenedier

Answer by Siddharth Grenedier:

Yes. Aamir Khan is definitely overrated as an actor in my opinion. He is called a perfectionist owing to the kind of roles he has done in the films viz Sarfarosh, Lagaan, Mangal Pandey – The Rising, Rang De Basanti , Taare Zameen Par, 3-Idiots, PK etc.

However, if the only parameter to term someone as a perfectionist is the kind of roles he has played then, AJAY DEVGAN should be a perfectionist. Have a look of great movies he has done.

GANGAJAL

APAHARAN

RAJNEETI

SATYAGRAHA

THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH

DRISHYAM

ZAKHM

COMPANY

OMKARA

KHAKEE

ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI

RAINCOAT

YUVA

The very basis of terming Aamir Khan a perfectionist lies in the kind of movies he has done. Undoubtedly, all his movies that I aforementioned are of high quality. However, I fail to understand why audience don’t acknowledge that Ajay Devgan has done more number of high quality films than Aamir Khan. Moreover, Aamir Khan has never won the National Award for Best Actor while Ajay Devgan has won the National Award for Best Actor twice vis-à-vis Zakhm and The Legend of Bhagat Singh.

If Aamir Khan is so called a perfectionist, then why he hasn’t been able to win a single National Award for Best Actor?

I have no bias towards Aamir Khan and he is a good actor but the assessment and evaluation must be done objectively before labeling someone a perfectionist.

If you are assuming that I am trying to undermine the acting skills of Aamir Khan by comparing him with Ajay Devgan because Devgan is my favourite actor, in that case I would like to tell you that my favorite actor is PAVAN MALHOTRA – The most versatile actor the Indian Cinema ever produced.
