What did you do immediately after selling your company? by @corbett3000
Answer by Peter Corbett:
I sold the business as of two days ago. Here's the play by play since then:
- Found out we closed when I got a cell signal landing on the tarmac in Montego Bay Jamaica in route to my wedding
- Logged in to my mobile banking app and saw the number. Showed my fiancé while we were still taxiing to the gate. Hugged furiously
- Sent the 5 draft emails I'd cued up, announcing the deal to my team and our clients, as well as thanking all the folks on both sides who worked on the deal
- Got to our villa in Jamaica and jumped in the pool
- Answered every single congrats tweet/email which numbered in the hundreds
- Relaxed while prepping for our wedding in a few days
- Recharging for the next stage of growing the business under new ownership in order to a) hit some earnouts and b) ensure this lovely company we built continues to thrive for the long run
Soo…this is where I am. Ready to get married in paradise and then honeymoon for a few weeks 🙂
