What is the best mystery of Indian temples until now? by Guru Charan H
Answer by Guru Charan H:
Bears visiting a temple during Aarti time.
This surprising thing happens in Chandi Mata Temple [Chattisgarh].
A mother bear and four cubs visit the temple during Aarti and take prashadam from the temple priest. Then they return after doing 9 parakrama.
The locals fondly call the bears as Ramu and Jambu.[named after Jambavan, a ramayana character who is half bear and half human]
This is what Lakshman Pradhan, the head priest of the temples says about this:
“I am here for the past five years. Ramu started visiting our temple three years ago. Since he was quite friendly, passersby considered him an envoy sent by God and worshipped him and fed him. A year later, he found his mate, Jambu. For the past few days, either of the two or both make an appearance at the temple regularly”.
