My 8 year old grandson asked, "Could all the water on Earth put out the Sun"? by @iLive_Real
Answer by Koushik Ahmed:
Well next time your grandson asks you this question, show him these two pictures.
This picture shows total volume of water on earth made into a sphere, next to the total volume of air.
This picture shows the Earth compared to the sun.
For instance, imagine a house caught on fire
and you went to put out the fire using one of these
And imagine you only have one drop of water.
Do you think it will even matter?
EDIT: okay people I just wanna point out that the burning house is merely an example and does not resemble the sun and how it burns. The sun is a massive nuclear fusion reactor. Tell your young ones that, at your own risk.
My 8 year old grandson asked “what's a nuclear fusion reactor”?
