Who are some great Indians that most people have not heard of? by Rahul Patel

Answer by Rahul Patel:

Madhu Pandit Dasa (a.k.a Madhusudan S)

He is an IIT Alumnus, (he completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT-Mumbai in 1980).

Disappointed with the commercialization of education and the cut-throat rat race among the students rather than having genuine desire to learn , he left such world for working for his "personal calling"

With the collective efforts of his and ISCON, he founded Akshay Patra Foundation

In partnership with the Government of India; various State Governments, the inestimable support from many businesses, philanthropic donors and well-wishers; we have grown from our humble beginnings in the year 2000, serving just 1,500 children across 5 schools. Today Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest (not-for-profit run) mid-day meal programme serving wholesome food to over 1.6 million children from 13,529 schools across 11 states in India.
