Is there a private firm similar to SpaceX in India that is competing with the ISRO?

Is there a private firm similar to SpaceX in India that is competing with the ISRO? by Veda Sree

Answer by Veda Sree:

Edit:At this point of time….a big NO(for those who can’t read the answer till the end) and YES,may be in the future. Its commercialization need not be same as Spacex which manufactures rockets, it may commercialize robotic space explorations or anything they are working and will work.

  • There is a Bengaluru based startup called TeamIndus led by Rahul Narayan, with former ISRO scientists working as full time employees that plans to be the first private company to land on the moon.
  • TeamIndus, the only Indian team in the Google Lunar XPRIZE competition, is building a privately funded Spacecraft capable of soft landing on the Moon by 2017. TeamIndus was one of five teams selected to compete in the Milestone prizes and successfully won $1M as a Milestone prize for our landing technology, last year.

For now, it is taking baby steps as a private firm to foray into commercialization of space technology in India. So,may be in coming years, it can be the potential competitor to ISRO.

What are some classic revenge examples in cricket?

What are some classic revenge examples in cricket? by Jay Desai

Answer by Jay Desai:

In 1999 Cricket World Cup Steve Waugh deliberately asked Michael Bevan his batting partner on the crease to play slowly against the West Indies which would increase their chances to qualify for the Knockout stage and it lead to ouster of New Zealand from the World Cup due to mind games of Steve Waugh.

In the 2001–02 VB Series NZ Captain Stephen Fleming conceded a bonus point to South Africa in their last match which meant that Australia required Victory with a bonus point to qualify for VB Series Finals which they couldn't and Australia was out of the Tri Nation series.

The series was the last one for Steve Waugh as after the series he along with his brother were dropped by the selectors and Ricky Pointing was made the captain.

In this way Stephen Fleming got a classic revenge against his opponent by ending his ODI career.

Which are the very heart touching pictures of Indian Army?

Which are the very heart touching pictures of Indian Army? by Ankit Shukla

Answer by Ankit Shukla:

I bet that you have not seen photos like this 🙂

You will feel proud by seeing this.

Can you see this? What is more heart touching than these pictures which show people respecting their army and saluting a martyred solder.

A soldier doesn't want a huge salary but he wants great respect from the people of his country.

It is the same country where some people doubt their own army, call them rapists.

But they don't know how much their Army sacrifices for them.

Last one

The photo that can't stop the tears rolling from my eyes .

Farewell for Pathankot martyr Lt Col Niranjan.

No words 😦

Thank you.

Is Emily Rose’s story a true story? Has someone seen her in real life?

Is Emily Rose's story a true story? Has someone seen her in real life? by Abhishek Thanvi

Answer by Abhishek Thanvi:

Yes the story is true. It is the Real Story of Anneliese Michel.

From her birth on the 21st of September, 1952, Anneliese Michel enjoyed the life of a normal, religiously nurtured young girl. Without warning, her life changed on a day in 1968 when she began shaking and found she was unable to control her body. She could not call out for her parents, Josef and Anna, or any of her 3 sisters. A neurologist at the Psychiatric Clinic Wurzburg diagnosed her with “Grand Mal” epilepsy. Because of the strength of the epileptic fits, and the severity of the depression that followed, Anneliese was admitted for treatment at the hospital.

Soon after the attacks began, Anneliese started seeing devilish grimaces during her daily praying. It was the fall of 1970, and while the young people of the world were enjoying the liberal freedoms of the time, Anneliese was battling with the belief that she was possessed. It seemed there was no other explanation for the appearance of devilish visions during her prayers. Voices also began following her, saying Anneliese will “stew in hell”. She mentioned the “demons” to the doctors only once, explaining that they have started to give her orders. The doctors seem unable to help, and Anneliese lost hope that medicine was going to be able to cure her.
In the summer of 1973, her parents visited different pastors to request an exorcism. Their requests were rejected and they were given recommendations that the now 20 year old Anneliese should continue with medication and treatment. It was explained that the process by which the Church proves a possession (Infestatio) is strictly defined, and until all the criteria are met, a Bishop can not approve an exorcism. The requirements, to name a few, include an aversion to religious objects, speaking in a language the person has never learned, and supernatural powers.
In 1974, after supervising Anneliese for some time, Pastor Ernst Alt requested a permit to perform the exorcism from the Bishop of Wurzburg. The request was rejected, and a recommendation soon followed saying that Anneliese should live even more of a religious lifestyle in order to find peace. The attacks did not diminish, and her behavior become more erratic. At her parents’ house in Klingenberg, she insulted, beat, and began biting the other members of her family. She refused to eat because the demons would not allow it. Anneliese slept on the stone floor, ate spiders, flies, and coal, and even began drinking her own urine. She could be heard screaming throughout the house for hours while breaking crucifixes, destroying paintings of Jesus, and pulling apart rosaries. Anneliese began committing acts of self-mutilation at this time, and the act of tearing off her clothes and urinating on the floor became commonplace.
After making an exact verification of the possession in September 1975, the Bishop of Wurzburg, Josef Stangl, assigned Father Arnold Renz and Pastor Ernst Alt with the order to perform “The Great Exorcism” on Anneliese Michel. The basis for this ritual was the “Rituale Romanum”, which was still, at the time, a valid Cannon Law from the 17th century. It was determined that Anneliese must be saved from the possession by several demons, including Lucifer, Judas Iscariot, Nero, Cain, Hitler, and Fleischmann, a disgraced Frankish Priest from the 16th century, and some other damned souls which had manifested through her. From September ’75 until July ’76, one or two exorcism sessions were held each week. Anneliese’s attacks were sometimes so strong that she would have to be held down by 3 men, or even chained up. During this time, Anneliese found her life somewhat return to normal as she could again go to school, take final examinations at the Pedagogic Academy in Wurzburg, and go to church.
The attacks, however, did not stop. In fact, she would more often find herself paralyzed and falling unconscious than before. The exorcism continued over many months, always with the same prayers and incantations. Sometimes family members and visitors, like one married couple that claims to have “discovered” Anneliese, would be present during the rituals. For several weeks, Anneliese denied all food. Her knees ruptured due to the 600 genuflections she performed obsessively during the daily exorcism. Over 40 audio tapes record the process, in order to preserve the details.
The last day of the Exorcism Rite was on June 30th, 1976, and Anneliese was suffering at this point from Pneumonia. She was also totally emaciated, and running a high fever. Exhausted and unable to physically perform the genuflections herself, her parents stood in and helped carry her through the motions. “Beg for Absolution” is the last statement Anneliese made to the exorcists. To her mother, she said, “Mother, I’m afraid.” Anna Michel recorded the death of her daughter on the following day, July 1st, 1976, and at noon, Pastor Ernst Alt informed the authorities in Aschaffenburg. The senior prosecutor began investigating immediately.
A short time before these final events unfolded, William Friedkin’s “The Exorcist” (1974) came to the cinemas in Germany, bringing with it a wave of paranormal hysteria that flooded the nation. Psychiatrists all over Europe reported an increase of obsessive ideas among their patients. Prosecutors took more than 2 years to to take Annaliese’s case to court, using that time to sort through the bizarre facts. Anneliese’s parents and the two exorcists were accused of negligent homocide. The “Klingenberg Case” would be decided upon two questions: What caused the death of Anneliese Michel, and who was responsible?
According the forensic evidence, “Anneliese starved to death”. Specialists claimed that if the accused would have begun with forced feeding one week before her death, Anneliese’s life would have been saved. One sister told the court that Anneliese did not want to go to a mental home where she would be sedated and forced to eat. The exorcists tried to prove the presence of the demons, playing taped recordings of strange dialogues like that of two demons arguing about which one of them would have to leave Anneliese’s body first. One of the demons called himself Hitler, and spoke with a Frankish accent (Hitler was born in Austria). Not one of those present during the exorcism ever had a doubt about the authenticity of the presence of these demons.
The psychiatrists, who had been ordered to testify by the court, spoke about the “Doctrinaire Induction”. They said that the priests had provided Anneliese with the contents of her psychotic behavior. Consequentially, they claimed, she later accepted her behavior as a form of demonic possession. They also offered that Anneliese’s unsettled sexual development, along with her diagnosed Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, had influenced the psychosis.
The verdict was considered by many as not as harsh as they expected. Anneliese’s parents, as well as the exorcists, were found guilty of manslaughter resulting from negligence and omitting first aid. They were sentenced to 6 months in jail and probation. The verdict included the opinion of the court that the accused should have helped by taking care of the medical treatment that the girl needed, but instead, their use of naive practices aggravated Anneliese’s already poor constitution.
A commission of the German Bishop-Conference later declared that Anneliese Michel was not possessed, however, this did not keep believers from supporting her struggles, and it was because so many believed in her that Anneliese’s body did not find peace with death. Her corpse was exhumed eleven and a half years after her burial, only to confirm that it had decayed as would have been expected under normal circumstances. Today, her grave remains a place of pilgrimage for rosary-praying and for those who believe that Anneliese Michel bravely fought the devil.
In 1999, Cardinal Medina Estevez presented journalists in Vatican-City the new version of the “Rituale Romanum” that has been used by the Catholic Church since 1614. The updates came after more than 10 years of editing and is called “De exorcismis et supplicationibus quibusdam” otherwise known as “The exorcism for the upcoming millennium”. The Pope approbated the new Exorcism Rite, which is now allowed for worldwide use. This new form of exorcism came after the German Bishop-Conference demanded to ultimately abolish the “Rituale Romanum”. It also came more than 20 years after Anneliese Michel had died.

You can also watch out "The real exorcism of Emil rose" on YouTube which is the real exorcism of Anneliese Michel.

What is the biggest mistake that a big company has made?

What is the biggest mistake that a big company has made? by Joe Andon

Answer by Joe Andon:

The biggest mistake was made by Xerox and it happened in 1979. This cost them potentially up to $1.4 trillion. (The combined value of Apple, IBM and Microsoft).

That mistake cost them the chance to be one of the biggest company in the history of the world. That is a much bigger mistake than any of the others mentioned on these answers.

This is what happened:

Xerox PARC the company’s Silicon Valley R&D lab had created the working basis of the modern computer.

They made a computer called the Alto, it was the first computer that could do the following things:

  1. The first computer that had a working Graphic User Interface, that means the first computer ever with a mouse and screen where you can move the cursor on things you click.
  2. The first computer that was networked together, this was the first computer a email was sent on. (in the internal network). This basically became the basis of the internet.
  3. It was also the first computer to use object orientated programming, the foundation for what all modern computer programs on your computer, phone and most electronic devices operate on.

What happened to this Alto computer? If they created all this in the Alto, why has nobody heard of it, why is nobody accessing Quora on a Xerox device?

It’s because Xerox made an 1979 investment in Apple, as part of that agreement they gave Steve Jobs access to their labs. Steve Jobs used this access to the first Alto to build the Lisa and eventually the first Mac.

Bill Gates who was writing Microsoft Office software for the Mac, had access to Apple’s source code. So he thought he would also make his own computer/ operating system. IBM made the hardware and he supplied the software.

Meanwhile nobody at Xerox HQ even acknowledged all this was happening, they failed the launch of the Alto and even though they created it, they never protected it or commercialised it.

Market Cap Of Each Company:
Xerox :
$7B
Apple: $803B
Microsoft: $546B
IBM: $143B

Steve Jobs New Yorker Quote ““If Xerox had known what it had and had taken advantage of its real opportunities,” Jobs said, years later, “it could have been as big as I.B.M. plus Microsoft plus Xerox combined—and the largest high-technology company in the world.”” Source: Creation Myth

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…

Above: Steve Job’s discussing when he first witnessed the Alto

https://www.youtube.com/watch?ti…

Above: PARC researchers explaining what it was like to work at PARC

Here is the mistake broken down:

1. Xerox senior management didn’t know their own R&D so they didn’t know it’s value.

2. Giving Steve Jobs access to their R&D.

3. When Adele Goldberg of the Alto R&D team at PARC labs refused to show Steve Jobs the technology, they ignored her advice and forced her to do it.

4. Not making the launch of the Alto a company priority.

5. Not getting the price of the Alto down. Apple for example re-designed their same mouse 20 times cheaper.

Who is the worst Indian author?

Who is the worst Indian author? by Jay Desai

Answer by Jay Desai:

The worst Indian author is Arundhati Roy. She has been at the forefront in encouraging anti Indian elements and traitors. Some of her misdeeds;

  • Supports Naxalites : She criticised Indian Government operations against Naxalites. She also described these terrorists as Gandhians.
  • Supports Afzal Guru : She even used to supported the convict of 2001 Indian Parliament attack. She called Afzal Guru a Prisoner of War.
  • Advocates Kashmiri Separatism : She must have been the professor of JNU students I feel. She openly advocated for Kashmir separatism and gave an Anti India Speech in 2010.
  • Supports Taliban : She has openly supported Talibanis in the War on Terror.
  • Criticised India's Nuclear Programme : She was not happy on India becoming a nuclear nation. She wrote End of Imagination to criticise India's Nuclear Weapons.
  • Supported 26/11 Attacks : This was the most heinous comment by her. She linked 26/11 attacks with Gujarat riots and Partition and tried to justified it.
  • Criticised Anna Hazare : She called respected social activist Anna Hazare as an agent of BJP.

I don't know how she is not behind bars yet for making so many anti-national statements and supporting terrorists.

How can I work as hard as Elon Musk?

How can I work as hard as Elon Musk? by Caesar E. Dillon

Answer by Caesar E. Dillon:

At 22, I wanted to be a millionaire, at least that's what I told my friends, I thought it was a stroll in the park. At the age of 23, My life was worse than when I was 22. Then I clocked age of 24, I still wanted to be rich ( Note that I said “wanted”).

But here is a funny fact, everyone wants to be a millionaire or multimillionaire or billionaire whatsoever you prefer but no one is are committed to becoming one. Yep, commitment. I heard there was once a general who led his army into enemy territory on an island and ordered his soldiers to burn down all the ships they came with and said “ if you desire to go back home, the good news is that we can and the bad news is that the ships are occupied by our enemies”, so the soldiers had no choice but fight and win, they won.

So, when I was 3 months way from making 25, I realized that wanting was just not good enough, in fact, is not even close to being good and it had gotten me where I was. So I knew that if everything in my life had to change, I had to be committed to achieving my goals and I started developing habits and ditching out feelings.

Sometimes I feel like not waking up early and trust me, no one does but I know I have to wake up and to be sincere it was not easy at first but as time goes on it becomes part of you. No one feels like reading, but if you want to improve you have to create a habit of reading every day, if you want to be healthy, you have to create a habit of exercising every single day and so on for every aspect of you life and I promise you will never be the same again.

So to conclude, start developing habits and commit to them, at least that is a start to make real progress. I can tell you that right now am no millionaire “yet” but I am a million times better than me 2 years ago. I have done more progress in less than two years than I have in my entire life.

After the end of Kali Yuga, will Ramayana and Mahabharata happen again in Tretha Yuga and Dwapara Yuga respectively?

After the end of Kali Yuga, will Ramayana and Mahabharata happen again in Tretha Yuga and Dwapa… by Chinmay Vaishnav

Answer by Chinmay Vaishnav:

Yes, they will happen again in next set of four yugas as well.

And one next to it, and forever.

All the four yugas i.e

  • Sat-yug
  • Treta-yug
  • Dwapar-yug
  • Kali-yug

together are called one Mahayug or Chaturyug.

Span of each yug has also been mentioned in the scriptures.

Kaliyug is the shortest, with 4,32,000 human years.

Dwapar yug is twice as long as Kaliyug, 4,32,000 X 2 = 8,64,000 years

Tretayug is thrice as long as Kaliyug 4,32,000 X 3 = 12,96,000 years

Satyug is four times as long as Kaliyug 4,32,000 X 4 = 17,28,000 years

Together the four yug make 43,20,000 years in one Mahayug(Chaturyug).

This Mahayug is then repeated for 71 times.

Yeah, right. 71 times.

To give One Manvantar.

That gives you 43,20,000 X 71 = 30,67,20,000 years.

So, One manvantar is 30,67,20,000 years long.

Now comes the best part…

When 14 Manvatars pass by, It’s called a “Sarg” or “Kalp

So, One Kalp = 30,67,20,000 X 14 = 4,29,40,80,000 years.

THIS one KALP is equal to 12 HOURS of BRAHMA. 12 hours of his day.

The next 12 hours is his night, which is, time for Pralay.

Currently, We are in the Kaliyug of 28th Chaturyug of 7th Manvantar.

It has been just over 5000years since Kaliyug started (Right when Lord Krishna left the earth for his divine abode)

So much more is this kaliyug going to last?

Nearly, 4,27,000 Years more.

Thank you for reading.
